Benin. The Celestial Christian Church

A priest from the Celestian Christian church moves to a pirogue. The Celestial Christian Church is a syncretistic  faith between Christianity and African religions founded in Porto Novo (Benin) in 1947.
Ganvié, a village nicknamed the “Venice of Africa”, on Lake Nakoué not far from Cotonou in Benin.

The baptism of a child. The Celestial Church is widespread in Western Africa countries.
The newly baptized will spend the first night inside the church.

The choir. The songs and dances are an important part of any celebration of the Celestial Church.
