Indigenous People of the Amazon Rainforest

The Yanomami. They live in the rainforests and mountains of northern Brazil and southern Venezuela. Their population today is around 32,000 people.
The Kayapo. They lives alongside the Xingu River in the eastern part of the Amazon rain forest, Brasil. Around 8,638 people.
The Xavante. They live in the of eastern Mato Grosso state in Brazil. Around 15,315 people.
The Wayãpi. They live in the south-eastern border area of French and in the central part of the states of Amapá and Pará in Brazil. The number is approximated 1,615 individuals. Approximately 710 live in French Guiana and 905 live in Brazil.
The Matsés or Mayoruna. They live in the Peruvian and Brazilian Amazon. They are approximately 3,200 people.
The Tsimané. They live in San Borja, San Ignacio de Moxos, Rurrenabaque, and Santa Ana de Yacuma of El Beni, north-eastern department of Bolivia. Around 6,464 people.
The Achuar. They live along either side of the border in between Ecuador and Peru. Some 18,500 individuals.
The Terena. They live in the states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, and São Paulo in Brazil. They are around 16,000 people.
The Ticuna. They are the most numerous tribe in the Brazilian Amazon. Around 36,000 people.
The Yuracaré. They live along the Chapare River watershed in Cochabamba and Beni Department. They are around 2,500 people.
The Waodani. They live in the Amazonian Region of Ecuador. Approximately 2,500 people.
Uncontacted indigenous tribe in the brazilian state of Acre.
