On 19 January, people come from all over the country to celebrate the patron saint of the town of Diriamba, Saint Sebastian.
A group of people wearing the typical mask of the Diriamba culture, the Güegüense, accompany San Sebastián.
Unlike the carnival in other cities, which lasts only one day, the festival of Diriamba lasts a whole week.
The different characters are distinguished by their costumes, wooden masks, hairstyles and other accessories.
The costumes and decorations are also an essential part of the dance performances.
Children take part in the procession in the streets of Diriamba.
